While entering events for your schedules in SquadFusion is easy, there are other ways to get them into your website.
If you have generated a spreadsheet of your events, you can import them.
SquadFusion also supports integrations with dedicated scheduling software, so if you are using a supported software program or application, it can be configured to create SquadFusion events as well.
Importing Events
To import events, start on the Master Schedule (in the Scheduling menu). Press the Import button.
You will be taken to a page where you can download a template and upload your created files. Most likely, you will need to copy from your spreadsheets and paste into the template. It's important to keep the same formatting that comes with the template.
To make sure you keep the format the same, use the Paste Special or Paste as Text options in your spreadsheet program.
It's also important to ensure any divisions, squads, locations, and facilities in your spreadsheet match exactly the same objects on your website. Sometimes, especially when the person in charge of creating the schedules doesn't work on the website much, they will use different names.
There are no notifications to the people on the squads in the events for imported events. This is a good thing when you are importing a large batch of events because you do not want to flood the attendees' inboxes.
On a related note, even if you enter them by hand, you may wish to avoid notifications when you enter a wave of events. There are a couple ways to ensure notifications do not get sent for events created via the website or app:
- Turn off the notification checkbox at the bottom of the page.
- Ensure any squads on the event are in Draft status. Event notifications are not sent for Draft squads.
Editing imported and synchronized events
You can edit and delete imported events the same as if you entered them directly.
Events which are created via synchronization with dedicated scheduling software can also be edited and deleted from within your website. However, the synchronization is only from the external software to SquadFusion. Changes and deletions on your website and mobile app will not get synchronized back to your scheduling software.
